Scope: Supply and integration of commercial door hardware across retail, entertainment, and service areas
The $800 million redevelopment of Karrinyup Shopping Centre transformed it into one of Western Australia’s largest and most prestigious retail destinations. Expanding from 59,874 m² to over 109,000 m², the project introduced 290 retail stores, a new entertainment precinct, and The West Deck dining area. Our team was proud to contribute to this landmark project by delivering high-performance door hardware solutions tailored to the centre’s diverse needs.
 
We provided and installed a wide range of door hardware systems across the centre, including:
  • Heavy-duty commercial hinges and closers for high-traffic retail entries
  • Automatic sliding and swing door operators for main entrances and anchor tenants
  • Fire-rated door hardware for compliance in service corridors and emergency exits
  • Architectural pull handles and push plates in satin stainless steel and matte black
  • Electronic access control systems for staff-only and plant areas
  • Accessible door hardware in compliance with AS1428.1 for public amenities
Our hardware solutions were selected to meet the centre’s dual goals of durability and design cohesion:
  • Custom finishes to match interior design palettes of flagship stores and food precincts
  • Low-profile closers and concealed hinges for a clean, modern look
  • Weather-resistant components for external entries and loading docks
  • Quiet-close technology in public restrooms and parent rooms
 
All hardware installations were designed to meet or exceed Australian standards for:
  • Fire safety (AS1905.1)
  • Accessibility (AS1428.1)
  • Security and emergency egress
We also supported the integration of Changing Places facilities and family-friendly amenities with compliant door automation and signage.
 
Our contribution helped ensure that Karrinyup Shopping Centre delivers a seamless, secure, and stylish experience for over 10 million annual visitors. The door hardware continues to perform reliably under intense daily use, supporting the centre’s operations and customer satisfaction.
